Walter Elias Disney came to Southern California in 1923. He lived with his Uncle Robert at a house that
still stands today in the Los Feliz District of Los Angeles. For 43 years, he lived and worked within
a few miles of that first location.
This 10 hour tour takes you to many of the location where Walt Disney lived, worked and played here.
Unlike the very popular "Walk in Walts Footsteps" at Disneyland, this tour takes you away from the
Happiest Place on Earth to the places where Walt Lived, Worked and Experienced Southern California.
From Uncle Roberts Barn to Walts' Star on the Walk of Fame, Pantages Theater and Chinese Theater.
Then on to the Hollywood Sign (because we found an amazing spot where you can get really close) to the
Walt Disney Studios for a photo stop outside. Then into Griffith Park to the Merry Go Round where he
brought his daughters and thought about Disneyland (although it didn't have a name, yet).
Then, to his first storefront, his Uncle Roberts house and the site of the Hyperion Studios.
Now it's time for Lunch at the Tam O'Shanter, Walts' favorite restaurant and almost daily lunch spot. Lunch is included at this excellent restaurant where Prime Rib is a specialty but there is something for everyone!
Next, we'll visit his final resting spot at Forest Lawn Glendale and spend a few minutes paying our respects to an amazing life and story.
From there, we will continue on to Downtown Los Angeles and the Walt Disney Concert Hall (not really a part of his life but an amazing testament to his legacy) and then to the Biltmore Hotel where his attended the Academy Awards.
Walt Disney is an icon, he was a man and he experienced and touched so many special places that are still here in Southern California. It would be our pleasure to have you along and provide, what we believe, will be an amazing day!
Thank you for considering it.
The fine print:
This tour is only just beginning as of May, 2014.
It is available to only guests who are 12 years old and above.
Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Lunch is included and includes a beverage and is limited to $25 per guest.
The days are not set but, until we can arrange for all locations to open for our tour, it will be limited to weekend days. Eventually, we hope to run it during the week but really want to include all the stops that are possible and, so far, many of those are weekend, only places.
